U.S.S. Freedom -- Littoral Combat Ship 1

This ship, the Freedom, U.S.S. LCS 1, was built by Lockheed Martin about a mile and a half or so from where I'm writing this in Marinette, WI. One of two really fast ships. There is a defense contract for 50 ships at stake--the competitor is a ship built by General Dynamics.
