Steins;Gate is a 2011 anime television series produced by White Fox that is based on 5pb and Nitroplus's 2009 visual novel of the same name. It is part of the Science Adventure franchise, alongside Chaos;Head and Robotics;Notes. It takes place in 2010 and follows Rintaro Okabe and his pals as they unintentionally discover a means of time travel via which they may send text messages to the past, ultimately influencing the present.

Hiroshi Hamasaki and Takuya Sat directed the series, which was created by Jukki Hanada, with animation directing and character design by Kyuuta Sakai and music by Takeshi Abo. It ran for 24 episodes and was simulcast by Crunchyroll in North and South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, as well as Anime on Demand in the United Kingdom. A 25th episode was eventually included with the DVD and Blu-ray releases, which were handled by Funimation in North America and Manga Entertainment in the United Kingdom, respectively. The series has also produced four original net animation episodes, a cinematic sequel, and Steins;Gate 0, an anime adaptation of the sequel to the Steins;Gate game, which debuted in 2018. The story and writing in Steins;Gate were favorably welcomed by critics, however some critiqued the pacing in the first half.
